Humber LEP wants views on economy ‘Plan’
The Humber Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is encouraging businesses and local residents to submit their views on its draft plan for the Humber economy.
‘A Plan for the Humber’ has been prepared by the LEP and its partners, with LEP Chairman Lord Haskins leading the work.
The draft was approved by a meeting of the LEP Board on Friday, one year on from the original LEP proposal receiving approval from Ministers.
As a five-year plan, it sets out the Humber’s main opportunities for growth, in particular, it argues the area can gain more economic value from its main natural asset; the Humber itself.
Lord Haskins, Chairman of the Humber LEP, said: “The Plan is the culmination of several months’ work looking at what our main economic objectives should be.
“We wanted to set out in a short document what we are focussed on and why, and then stick to it.
“What we are asking now is: are our priorities the right ones and have we missed anything? I hope everyone with an interest in the future of the Humber economy will read the Plan and let us know.”
The LEP aims to agree the final document quickly, so work on detailed delivery plans can begin over the summer.
Task and finish groups, led by Board members have already been looking at small business support and the marketing of the Humber, and will be reporting this month.
To download the Plan, visit the LEP’s website here. Deadline for comments is Friday July 20.
