Sheffield construction firm lands £1.4m funding
A Sheffield-based construction company, specialising in new car dealerships, has received £1.4m in funding from HSBC’s Commercial Bank.
BDB Design Build Ltd aims to use the package to expand its portfolio from both established clients and new business targets.
The firm develops high quality commercial buildings for retail, mixed-use, sports and leisure, industrial and motor industries.
The deal, led by Senior Commercial Manager Chris Alsop, provides the company with Guarantee Facilities, offering greater trading flexibility, along with a commercial mortgage.
Martin Nattrass, HSBC area commercial director for Sheffield, said: “It is great to partner with an organisation that is building upon its successful business model and making the most of the opportunities available.
“The construction sector was hit hard during the recession, so we’re delighted to see BDB Design Build Ltd go from strength to strength.”
The company is a family business, founded in 1994, and which last year had a £16m turnover.
Nick Goodson, managing director at BDB Design Build Ltd, added: “Our partnership with HSBC will allow the business to continue its growth strategy.
“We typically target projects valued between £1m and £6m and already have a fantastic blue-chip client base.
“The banking relationship with HSBC provides great flexibility for us to capitalise on our successes and drive the business forward.”
