Weightmans hails record corporate performance
A law firm division is celebrating a record-breaking performance.
Weightmans’ Newcastle-based corporate team completed 132 deals in 2024.
Bosses say the figure was 11 per cent higher than the previous year, and an all-time high for the department.
Standout deals included support for Gateshead-based website accessibility software firm Recite Me, which secured £4.6 million backing from investor BGF to fuel European, US and Australian expansion plans.
Partner Kirsty Adamson said: “We are incredibly proud of these record-breaking results, and it enables us to confidently start 2025 with real optimism.
“To be able to demonstrate an increase in activity reaffirms our position in the North East as the go-to law firm for corporate deals.
“This wouldn’t be possible without the hard work of the team who continue to deliver excellent results for our clients across the region and beyond.”
Weightmans’ Newcastle corporate team’s strong performance was driven by support across several other deals, which included Autodesk’s move for Stockton’s Datum360 and Hartlepool-based Camerons Brewery’s refinancing and funding package with Sandton Capital Partners.
